THE BLACK Kitchen Initiative
The Black Kitchen Initiative is a program launched in 2020 by Kraft Heinz, the LEE Initiative and Southern Restaurants for Racial Justice (SRRJ) to both celebrate, uplift, and preserve the legacy of Black food as well as support the long-term health of Black restaurateurs establishments by connecting them to tangible resources.
Knowing how much Black cuisine, culture, and businesses have made an indelible mark on the best parts of America; we made the Black Kitchen Initiative to play a small role in showcasing that vibrant legacy and breaking down the barriers that keep Black voices and cooking out of the American culinary pantheon.
